HDTV TCL LE46FHDE5300 46-Inch Deals & Reviews

B Shafer "Retiredtelecom" (WNC): My 6 1/2-year old Toshiba 63" HD DLP which had been sick on and off for the better part of a year and finally "gave up the ghost" this past Tuesday evening so Wednesday morning I began searching for the best value for a new TV.
Since I knew the Toshiba, which was a great TV for the better part of 5 ½ years, was going South, I had been looking for the best value in a new TV for the better part of 7 or 8 months. I was willing to scale down the size of the new TV to as small as a 46" if the price was right and finally make a decision to buy an LCD TV no smaller than 50" and at least 46" LED if the price was right.

D. Siegel "DMS_NY" (New York, NY): The razor thin body on this TV seems even thinner in reality than in the photos, it's basically all display with a tiny bezel. The glass base is a nice modern touch, the TV actually improved the design of my bedroom. Picture quality is fantastic even from close distances - got it just in time to watch the NHL Playoffs in 720p and was beyond satisfied (hockey pucks often disappear on lesser TVs). I was hesitant to buy from an unfamiliar brand but this was a great decision, probably one of the best deals out there. This is definitely a 5 star HDTV for a crazy price. Classic hidden gem on Amazon! I'd definitely buy from TCL again, especially at a price like this.

ScOObydoo (USA): Most of the time, a low budget TV looks just like that - cheap and ugly. This TCL is a very rare exception. It starts with the bezel around the screen - if you have ever invested in a really cheap TV (think RCA, Westinghouse, Coby), you'll know that an inch or two around the panel is normal. Not so in the TCL 32". The bezel is about as slim as the one on my $1000 Samsung.
The panel used in this TV is also top notch, I'm guessing Samsung or LG. Nice and crisp, no defective dots or other nastiness. Plenty of inputs on the back too, but the "smart" features are a bit disappointing. It'll do MP3 or photos, but no video. It wouldn't have cost a lot more to add something a little better.

M m smits (Eastern NY): I was very excited to get this TV. I did my research on the TV itself as well as the brand, and felt comfortable with both. UPS showed up today with a clean, unopened, undamaged box. I took down my old (Olevia 32") TV, routed the cables, put on the plate for the wall mount, and connected the power. It's a beautiful TV. Very thin bezel, small logo, simple red LED around the on switch indicating power is connected.

Nathan Uchytil (New York, USA): I've been holding off on purchasing a HDTV for quite some time, but this offer really convinced me to make the investment. The picture is fantastic, build quality is what you'd expect from a television in a much higher price range, and the TV had arrived without any problems at all. If you're in the market for a solid, basic LCD HDTV, pick this one up. You won't regret it.
M. Costa "mccormackamplification" (earth): Saw this for 399, then 349, then 319. Finally clicked it at 299 and it is good but when the screen is dark there are four large clouds in each corner. Allmost returned it and still thinking but during 80% of the viewing it looks great. On a dark scene though you really see the lower quality of this set. Bought a 37inch Vizio for my son and it looks much better on dark scenes but cost me 560. The base and frame look great just wish the clouding wasn't so bad.
If anyone knows a way to get ride of the clouding please let me know. And I'd also like to know if this is the norm for this LCD.

Scott W. Porter (Worcester, MA United States): The company will not respond to numerous emails and the phone number rings then goes busy.
The setup settings will not stay in memory after setting/changing them. The tv does retain settings made nearly a year ago but will not rewrite them. I can change them but only until the tv is turned off.
I have tried factory reset- unplug for 5 minutes then plug back in. It will not wipe old data and reset.
There is a year left on warranty- purchased from Amazon Dec 21, 2011 and I have been trying to contact them for six weeks. Nothing from them.
DeltaNine (SF BAy): HDMI all 3 don't work after 8 months of use. Otherwise worked well so far. But since I use it as a computer monitor it is huge deal to me. I'll post how the warranty goes. I see the price dropped 20% since last week so if you are thinking of getting it. I would recommend pay 50-100 more for a brand name and don't deal with this BC bad quality controls. If they fix if fast and easy I'll give them 3 stars but for now 1 best i can do.

HDTV TCL L40FHDP60 40-Inch Deals & Reviews

M. Yarbro "Mark" (Rowlett, TX United States): We've had this television for nearly two years now, and have been very pleased. TCL was a new and unknown brand when we bought it, but the 2 year warranty mitigated the risk a bit.
The unit is neither too heavy nor too light. Setup is easy despite the comically translated user guide. Closed-captioning is unusually complicated but a quick Google search will give you the steps. Everything else is very straightforward.I'm sure that hard-core technophiles will complain about too few HDMI plugs (it has three) but I think it's perfectly adequate for a typical family who are connecting a DVR, a Roku, and a DVD/Blu-ray player.

Nancy Tillotson (BISHOP, CA, US): This is my first LCD TV so I have no previous experience to compare this set with. The TV I replaced was an standard CRT about half the size of this one. I first had this TV delivered to me a week ago but it had a crack in the screen. Thanks to Amazon's replacement policy I got a brand new one in two days at no extra cost.
The TV was packaged properly with all the necessary padding. It was boxed upside down for some reason though and I don't know if this is normal. The base was easy to screw on by myself (Just layed the set on it's back on a soft surface. Also, the base can only fit one way so don't force it). It's lighter than my old TV so putting it in place was easy enough.

Kyrak21 (Fullerton, CA United States): So I'm getting an HDMI cable ASAP. A few things to note: The USB media option apparently only works with MP3's and images so if your thinking about playing movies from a USB stick then you're going to be disappointed. You have to adjust the picture mode depending on what you're watching. For example, cable doesnt always show in letter-box so watching it in cinema mode may distort and blur the image. Finally, I haven't gotten my universal remote to work with it as yet so you might also have that problem. But it's a relatively unknown brand so I guess that's expected
I recommend this if your moving up from a CRT or if you need a cheap decent second TV.

Clay (New Orleans): Just like the title says, there is virtually no input lag on this tv. I went from a tube tv in the bedroom (tube tv's having no input lag whatsoever just straight monitor) to this, and it's practically identical feeling only it's 1080p and it looks great! The game I tested it on is Modern Warfare 3 on my PS3 (the ultimate lag testing game-I can't think of anything faster paced) and I tested it with Halo Reach on my Xbox 360 when I first got it this afternoon to make sure it worked and it did great on that too. There was another review that mentioned he had tested it on a couple games and it didn't seem to have input lag, but he didn't mention WHAT games so I was still unsure as you wouldn't really notice as sharply on most games. I took a chance and I am here to tell you that I felt in control and no lag the whole time- super pleased! Got straight on here to let you guys know because I saw a few people asking about it in the comments on other reviews and its a major concern especially if that's the bulk of what you're going to be doing with it:)

HDTV TCL LE39FHDF3300TA 39-Inch Deals & Reviews

Cap'n Jan "Cap'n Jan" (Heart 'o Texas): In talking to my husband last night he said "I bet the reason these TV's are so inexpensive is they bought up all the discontinued parts sitting around in China, assembled the TV's and sold them dirt cheap." So what if they break? They are disposable! Trouble is they don't inform the customers that they are throw-aways. Instead they talk about their warranty! And their Customer Service!!!. The disposable TV theory makes sense to me particularly given the treatment we have gotten. I am putting this review on EVERY TCL TV even though we only bought the 42 inch version.

SeBo "seb6000" (IND, USA): I ordered it late Friday afternoon and not including the Monday holiday I received the item on Tuesday (so 2-3 business days). The UPS delivered item was not damaged in any way, nor were its internal contents (as I read in some reviews for TCL Tvs).
My HDTV is the TCL 39" (3300) model which sold for $329 compared to $418 for the 43" TCL model. I didn't think a couple more inches were worth so much more in cost. I do need to say that Amazon was selling the TCL 42" model for $369, (but they ran out of stock just before I ordered, so maybe that sale will return, it's the best deal).

Pocono Bob (Dunmore, PA United States): When I began to buy flat panel TV's several years ago, the prices were still pretty high. I researched & researched. I came upon the Vizio line & my 1st purchase was a 50" 1st generation plasma. I was very happy w/ the set, so my next purchase was another Vizio. A few years had passed and technology advanced some more & I ended up getting a 42" LCD and to this day the picture is great especially for a 2nd set in our dining room. The picture was/is better than the original plasma. I found Vizio to be a great bang for the buck at the time & pretty much still think the same.

Joyce Miletic "+" (Wintersville, OH United States): Daily I hear my husband say how incredibly clear and detailed the picture is. When first turned on, the screen was too dark; we easily found and adjusted the settings and now the picture is crystal clear. The volume is good as well. It readily hooked up with TiVo and did not require an extra box for cable connection. It has an earphone outlet in the side back. We are happy about that, as that is fairly important to us, when one wants to sleep and the other wants to watch TV. It is a little inconvenient to reach around to the back to insert the jack, though it is on the side_ish, so not as bad as all the way in the back. Over all this is the best TV we have owned so far and it is priced so low!

HDTV Toshiba 50L5200U 50-Inch Deals & Reviews

Elena C.V. "elenart" (Florida): The clear frame technology works great but works via HDMI not the dvi pc connection. Whats cool about it is that you can have something in clear frame mode AND then set the degree of "camera stabilization", between smooth, standard and off. So you can avoid the complete soap opera effect by setting it to off instead of smooth.
Blue Ray video is jaw dropping indeed, with the clear frame technology applied over Planet Earth the picture seems ultra real and life like.

Electronics is Me "Babylon 5 Guy" (Rochester, NY USA): Set this TV up yesterday, was quite easy. The picture is awesome! Many have complained about the sound, but really does any flat screen TV have great sound? My other TV a Sony 32" doesn't, my friend's Samsung doesn't, nor have I heard great sound on any of them. I put a Coby sound bar on, sounds great now! Has plenty of inputs, would of liked to have something other than 3.5 mm audio output jack, luckily my Coby sound bar had such a connection, a couple of RCA Jacks would of been nice. It does have a digital sound output. My biggest complaint is you can ONLY use the remote that came with it. I can't use my Cable DVR remote. On calls to Time Warner and Toshiba, after about an hour trying to program it myself, no one had a code, and Toshiba said it would be about a year before one was availabe?? Say what! A little bit of a P.I.A. but I guess I can live with it, as really the only functions I really use with the Toshiba remote is volume, to turn it off and on and the occasional video source change.

R. Wetmore (Portland, OR): I purchased this TV over 2 months ago. It did not work. Called Toshiba, they needed an exact purchase date to start a tech support ticket. I gave them this information. One month later 1st technician comes out with a new part, replaces it, and the TV still does not work, they order a 2nd part, Takes about 1 month, Tech come out replaces it, and the TV still does not work. He changes a different part still does not work. It has been over 2 months and the TV still only shows Toshiba splash screen. I call Toshiba directly, to request a new TV instead, they say I need to fax a copy of the proof of purchase and they will evaluate my claim??? Excuse me, you have the warranty information, you have the purchase date, you have had techs on site multiple times, yet I still need to go find a PO and fax it to them They claim in case it is a gift??????

D. Patridge (MN): This tv is nice and thin, with great picture. That is the good part.
The bad part is the software. My first tv to ever crash on me. I just wanted a tv that could change channels and inputs. Is that really too much to ask?
It also did have some edge back lighting problems when the picture was of a very dark or black seen. The corners had slight light bleed through. Nothing that made it a deal breaker for the price. It was just a little annoying to notice it at times.

HDTV Toshiba 32C120U 32-Inch Deals & Reviews

Mark Fellows "Gadget Guy" (Baltimore, MD): I have had this tv for a few weeks. The choice was between this one and a cheaper Panasonic that had lots of good reviews. When I went to the store, I expected to buy the Panasonic, but this one seemed to have a better picture. The clincher was the sound quality. This one was much better. I could actually hear this one, but the other one sounded muddled. Maybe the speakers were blown on the Panasonic, but I couldn't hear it. Since I have a wood pellet stove, there is a lot of background noise in my living room, so I needed good sound. This one has some equalizing scheme that allows it to sound better at lower volume. Perhaps Toshiba pumps up the gain on the highs which makes it easier to hear.

Tom O. (Buffalo, NY USA): I purchased this 32" LCD TV as a "slick deal" recently, which means I found it at an uncommonly low price, and purchased it on a whim.
Out of the box, I was pleased to learn that the picture quality was going to FAR exceed my expectations. I have discerning taste, and I can say with a clear conscience that the picture quality of this set is on par with what I've seen from Sony & Samsung. The black is black, the contrast is great, and the colors really pop. It is truly a stunning picture! And completely unexpected from a set of this price range (and brand name).

L. K. Sterling "voice of gabriel" (Brighton, MA United States): The large complaint is that the audio is not very bright. The maximum sound level is barely enough for me to hear over my fan or when I am cooking. If you like to watch TV loud or if you are putting it in a large room with background noise, you will be disappointed. I am going to have to buy some external speakers. I am not a gamer and don't care about extra bass--I want a crisper sound in the midrange/human voice levels. I keep rewinding to hear what is said during movies and dramas when conversations are soft. News shows and game shows are OK.

James Ruffin "jrstriker12" (DC Metro Area): After my old CRT TV died in my bedroom, I was looking for a decent TV with a good match of features and value. I didn't need anything fancy since I use it to watch news/weather/traffic in the morning or as a TV for my daughter to watch cartoons. I am very happy with this Toshiba as it has a good set of inputs, a decent picture, and a reasonable price ($250).
Anyone buying this TV should read the review by Mark Fellows. You have to turn off the auto brightness sensor to get a sufficiently bright picture (see instructions below) or keep it in "retail" mode. I took off one star for the frustration of trying to find the energy saving options. Turn off the auto brightness sensor and you'll be more than pleased with the picture quality.

HDTV Toshiba 29L1350U 29-Inch Deals & Reviews

Meggo39 "Meggo39" (Warren, NJ United States): My plans for this TV was primarily to be able to play the PS4 when it comes out. My current entertainment system (PC, 2 monitors, and a PS3 sharing one of the monitors and having to run an audio contraption to get sound) wont be able to support the PS4 and have audio so I finnaly bit the bullet and invested in a TV.

Allen G (Grand Rapids, MI USA): Once I move back out for the fall semester, I plan to make this a 3rd monitor as well as it being shared with the PS3 and PS4 when it comes out, It has 3 HDMI inputs and I dont have/desire cable television so this TV was perfect for my setup plans. It does have the functionality to pickup local Digital/Anolog signals, but you are going to need to have an antennae to pick them up. I dont believe this TV comes with an internal antennae like my older 20" "EDTV." My older TV detected most of the local channels with no antennae and this one found 0. I am assuming it needs one to be plugged into it, which is no problem, can find a decent antennae cheap if you really want to watch the local news. But most people will have some sort of cable service.

Jeffrey J Wal (San Diego, CA): Things not so great is the PC input only seems to only allow 1366x768 maximum resolution although native resolution of the TV is 1920x1080.
Brighter colors seem to get washed out when viewed at an angle.
Using the built in tuner, the picture tends to look fuzzy and reminiscent of watching a CRT. Vizio TV (which it replaced) seemed to pull stations in much cleaner and present a sharp picture. I can't seem to do much of anything to improve the picture or reception on the Toshiba.

Edwin (New York, USA): I can't believe Toshiba makes such a poor quality product and that this TV has so many positive reviews. Picture was blurry when there was movement and you can only see clear outlines of peoples faces when they are in a close up. Picture vibrated at bottom of screen. Also remote was cheap and flimsy with slow change time and only works if you are within in a few feet of tv directly in front of screen. I returned it.

HDTV Toshiba 32L2200U 32-Inch Deals & Reviews

Carol(CA, USA): This is a very nice tv, and I got it at a very good price. At first I didn't think the picture was very clear, but then I exchanged my old cable box for an HDTV cable box (free exchange at the cable company). Now the picture is amazingly bright and clear. I adjusted the color a bit, and it's perfect!Good picture, PC imput, low power consumption, seems good to me, I don't have problems with the remote. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a little slower changing channels than I would like it to be. Sound seems good.

Keith P.(Canada): I bought this TV because I had a size limitation inside a cabinet. Most of the big named TV manufacture’s had a physically larger size that this Toshiba 32L2200U TV. Granted I was unsure of Toshiba brand but I was limited in my choices. I have been very satisfied in the operation and the picture quality. This TV even surprised me by automatically changing the input source from cable to video when my DVD player starts.
Todd (north carolina): I bought one of these about a month ago and was so pleased that I bought another one a few days ago. Shipping was prompt (as expected with Amazon) and both tv's came in perfect mechanical and cosmetic shape.
Another reviewer talked about the picture turning brown or red - I have never experienced this; I find the picture and sound to be pretty good.
Robert J. Brown "robjbrown" (Georgia): I acqurie this for a replacement for my monitor. The old monitor started 'flickering". It would last hours sometimes. Now I can watch cabel and switch to computer!!!!!! I had problem with the icons being too big. I figured out it was easy to fix by adjusting the zoom. Overall it's good flat screen and LCD!!!

HDTV Toshiba 32L1350U 32-Inch Deals & Reviews

Kerry Graham(London): This is the first review of the Toshiba 50L1350U. Just bought from S...S (rhymes with beers). I returned the Toshiba 50L5200U. This one is perfect. Great color, contrast, black levels and is about 10 lbs. lighter. Was able to put on the stand and put on table by myself easily. This one is not a thin tv but I have found that the thicker ones tend to be lighter. The sound is very good and can be heard easily (with the very thin tv's there's no room for big speakers). But I hooked up 2 soundbars (one for left and one for right channel; along with a BIC F12 subwoofer and WOW WOW WOW. It has 3 HDMI inputs and a pc input (how much would it cost for a 50" pc monitor? lol.

Linda J Conklin (Petaluma, Ca United States):  received this tv before I expected. That was nice. The tv was everything I expected it to be based on product description. I wall mounted it very easily, hooked up the cable, and voila'...it was perfect. I didn't need to make any adjustments. I was concerned about sound (my last Toshiba tv had terrible sound) but this has really great audio. A thumbs up on all counts!

A reader "maxona" (Florida United States): I own 2 Toshiba TV's. I needed a smaller TV and searched for the Toshiba brand. If you have cable with HD on your TV, I think you will really be pleased with this product. The color is very good. I didn't feel the need to adjust the color on my set at all. The channels that come in as HD are crystal clear. I also can project my computer screen on the TV (with a netgear product) and it is even clearer than on my computer sceen. The cost for such a good product can't be beat. Once again, if you are looking for an affordable TV with an excellent picture, I think you will be pleased if you purchase this brand and product.
The Cooler Cooper (USA): I bought this for the occasional use in my travel camper, so 1080p wasn't an issue as was getting HD with 120Hz refresh rate which this has. I hooked up my BD to it and the picture was very good. I also used its speakers and they were good.
I can't comment about TV reception as there is none where I have my camper. I brought it home as I figure I should use it during the warranty period and will hook it up to antenna and then edit my review only if the picture for OTA TV is not as good as it is with the BD player.

HDTV Toshiba 39L1350U 39-Inch Deals & Reviews

Moose_of_many_waters (San Francisco, CA United States): I picked this up for less than 200 bucks on sale. I'm not much of a TV watcher and I don't even have cable TV. I just watch PBS and special yearly events like the Oscars and the Rose Parade off my antenna. Mostly I watch movies off my Blu-Ray player. This TV was bought to replace my old 26" LCD Panasonic Viera (about six years old). The picture quality of this LED TV is definitely superior to what I had and it's nice that I get 31.5" inches of screen in the same space of my bookcase that used to hold my 26" TV. Sound quality is solid, and the digital tuner is also superior to the old one on my Panasonic (I'm getting clear reception on channels that used to be sketchy). The one thing that is inferior is the time lag in changing channels; it's a bit longer with this TV, but nothing ridiculous in terms of a wait. This unit also has a glossy screen, and personally I prefer matte screens. My TV isn't near a window, so any glare is minor, but if you plan to watch this TV during the day and your house gets lots of light, you might prefer a different model.

R. Murray "teknikk7" (L.A., California): Great TV for the price. Out of the box the picture appeared to be way off as far as color etc. Took about 10 min to get everything dialed in and looking good. The bezel is one of the reasons I went with this screen. It is so thin and looks really good, TV is also very light (20lb). This TV will serve as an Xbox / Computer monitor. For $347 nothing even comes close to specs, looks or picture. Would recommend and buy another.

C. Hubler (Burbank, CA USA): Beautiful 1080p images, when calibrated properly. Great viewing angles side-to-side and from top of screen (though I don't think the screen is IPS type). Works great as PC monitor. (3) HDMI inputs a blessing. Almost 3D type depth of field with 1080i source material. Built-in digital tuner works extremely well; received all channels in Los Angeles market. Though its digital signal strength meter isn't the greatest. Highly recommended and quite affordable.

Death gleamer (Los Angeles, CA): This Toshiba 39L1350U TV has lots of features.
Picture quality is good via HD, 480i via standard cable not so good and overscan can occur. Native mode aka 1:1 pixel is great, for 720 plus signals or hdmi. No program ratio mode. Color accuracy is above average. Brightness ability is good.
Digital comb/mpeg filter is subpar. Noise is noticeable.
This TV has ONE button ratio access, 3 theater mode with position adjust. Edge enhancer mode is nice. Deep color adjust system. Neat feature is 'freeze', you can freeze the pic and the sound of the show will go on. To toggle between 60hz and 120hz use cinema mode off/on. Old DVD players look good, if using AV then change Option/input/av to av instead of colorstream. Get upconvert player or Blu-ray, hdmi is the way to go.

HDTV VIZIO M321i-A2 32-Inch Deals & Reviews

Go Huskers "Husker Power" (Montana): Went to Best Buy the other day to check out this new Vizio tv on display. The salesmen wouldn't stop talking about how amazing the picture was on the new Sony 4K tv they had on display. The guy then proceeded to show me the images on the Sony provided USB drive and how much better this Sony could show the images than the Samsung across from it which he said was in his opinion one of the next best tv's out there. The images showed the tv's ability to display different colors as well as the ability to distinguish between different grays ranging from white to black. Also it's ability to display different Reds on an image similar to a vision test for color blindness.

J. Haindel "Jay" (Louisiana):  First, I would like to say, We love this Television! We have had it a couple of days now, and I can find very little to complain about. The set came 3 days earlier than what was estimated and the delivery men set it up making sure the set was working properly before they left. The TV set up was easy without a hitch.
This purchase came with a price guarantee for 14 days. There was a price drop and Amazon came through on that too, reimbursing me the difference. What a company!

Randy M "rdm" (Des Moines, IA United States): Could not be happier with this set. I realized something I had thought was only applicable to the 240hz LG brand tv's, had thought that LG gave a more realistic sharp crisp picture than other brand Tv's. WRONG! The thing is, vizio as well as my other 55" LG both have 240hz and both share the same crystal clear picture. It's like you are there while they were filming. Hard to explain. You have to experience it. But the fact the tv is 240hz as opposed to 120hz makes a huge difference. Produces a life-like picture. As if you are there with your own camcorder doing the filming. In a way it takes away the mystery of film and acting. Kind of like making a home movie. It's the 240hz effect, I guess, since both my 240hz tv's share this video clarity. Cool in a way, but very obvious difference compared to 120hz tv's.

Joseph Day (St Louis): I went with the 55 inch from Best Buy that was on sale for the same here. Amazon said 3-5 weeks on ship time and I would have had to take time off work to be home when it arrived. I did have to pay the sales tax though, but it worked out just fine for my situation. First, it fit in the exact same space as my 50" Plasma because of the razor edge design, so that was a nice bonus. Second, it really is easy on the eyes and very, very thin. I'm not the biggest fan of the silver, as all my devices are all black, but a week later and I don't even notice it and its black around the front edge, so it really isn't a big deal. The screen gloss is not as bad as my plasma, but perhaps more than what most LCD TV viewers are used to seeing. I guess the reason for this type of screen has to do with the Passive 3D, but I don't find it problematic. Again, I'm used to full glass with plasma and I only get a lot of sun in that part of the house early in the morning.

HDTV VIZIO E470i-A0 47-inch Deals & Reviews

Hornmann (Kentucky): This TV will not disappoint you. I purchased this for $599 on sale and it was delivered in two days. Installation was easy, the picture is magnificent and the sound is great. The menu screen is easy to use to program and you can adjust all sound and color in custom mode.
The quality is as good as it gets at any price. This 47" "backup" tv for my home is now my primary tv.
If you are looking for a fantastic television at a fantastic price, this is the set for you.

V. Mccabe "Jeanne Bean" (Florida): I realize that one day of ownership is much too soon for a thorough review...........So I will update my opinion after a month or so of viewing, OR if I experience a problem with the unit's operation beforehand.
It arrived on schedule (one day shipping), was well packaged in its original retail box, and was simple to set-up.
I placed it near my LG LM7600 47" model (which I have been extremely happy with) for a side-by-side comparison. After some tweaking of the Picture settings, the results were very satisfactory. I realize that comparing the two models maybe like comparing apples and oranges, since there was a big price difference between them. But for the price of the Vizio I think that its picture quality and sound are very good.

Bond, James Bond (Texas): This is our first HD TV and we are freaking loving it! The main points are that we use Netflix as a TV provider instead of cable or satellite, so having a Netflix app and a Netflix button is too cool. I am not a tech guru so i can't say too much about the technical stuff but I do know that LED is the way to go, 120Hz is the latest and greatest and wifi connectivity means I can cut out one device. The thin frame should be standard on every tv, it makes this 47" seem larger.
stuff I'm unhappy with- no browser and no Pandora. It does however have rhapsody but I don;t have a rhapsody account because Pandora is free. And one more row of RC inputs would have been nice but I understand they're not as en vogue as they used to be.
*update, one month in- ah shucks the list of stuff I'm unhappy with has grown
Amazon app does support captioning ( big mad judgmental look going to amazon for that one).

James R. Robison "Ray Robison" (Afghanistan): Love the TV but the navigation and interface on the web software is terrible. My Roku has much better software. For instance, Amazon video has no way to save the shows I watch. I have to use the search function every time I want to go to a series I watch. Also, would it kill Vizio to allow us to label channels? My cable does not come with a cable box, and the channels are not labelled. It should take very little effort to put in a function so I can name channels. Throw us a software update Vizio. When you use the smart TV it creates a new temporary input. So if I am watching Hulu, for instance, and I switch to my xbox, that temporary internet input goes away. So you have to go through the entire system to restart an internet video. Also, the HDMI inputs on the back are recessed with a ledge opposite the opening that makes them very difficult to plug in to.

HDTV VIZIO E320-A1 32-inch Deals & Reviews

Katawampas (USA): I bought this on sale at another store. This model is not a "Smart" TV; the "Smart" model is the Vizio E320i-A0. I use a Roku so don't need "Smart". Overall, I'm happy with the TV. Has a good picture, OK sound & the connections I need. I use this as a bedroom TV & it works great for that. I do not have cable or satellite so I use antenna; I can see the city tower from my house so I have wonderful reception.
I own 3 additional Vizio TVs & they have been very good/dependable.
Andy Rosenblum "Andy Rosenblum" (Saratoga Springs, New York): I recently purchased the VIZIO E601i-A3 60-inch 1080p 120Hz Razor LED Smart FHDTV, an absolutely phenomenal TV with every conceivable feature you could ask for. Wanting to get a smaller TV for a second bedroom, I stumbled upon the TV featured here, the VIZIO E320-A1 32-inch 720p 60Hz LED HDTV TV at a friends house. He had just purchased it from Amazon. Upon checking out the TV; I felt as if it was missing some features that I was looking for. My friend was a little upset, but eventually pleased when I told him that he might want to return it to Amazon and get something else. While the picture and sound are excellent on this model; unless you're only buying a TV for the basics.

A. G. Taylor "agtaylor" (Chapel Hill, NC, USA): I love that this TV is easy to hook up and the menu is mostly intuitive. But it quit showing captioning after a few days, and I had to call for help. Customer service is for the life of the TV, and I got great service! Captioning is back. A small disappointment is that from the side, the picture is not as good as directly in front (colors fade).
I bought this TV to use for gaming and watching movies in my bedroom. The 32 inch screen feels almost theater-size compared to the 20-inch I used to have in my room. It's hard to tell without seeing it in person, but the TV is very classy looking and should look good in any home. The thing I love most is how thin the bezel is. In a dark room the screen just kinda floats there.
Lake Waters "L. Waters" (Kentucky): Only had this a few days, just wanted to note the changes to the default settings that were needed to make it better.
Note that the settings need to be changed for each source and each mode.
For the audio, the background music on my Netflix videos was very tinny and distorted, I think I finally got it about right.
In Audio, I set SRS Surround Studio to Standard, SRS TruVolume to Off, then in the Equalizer I edited the Flat settings to 8,8,8,3,-3
and now the audio sounds great.

HDTV LG Electronics LN5300 42LN5300 42-Inch Deals & Reviews

Don Miguel "The Bookie" (Portland, OR USA): Worked for awhile and had great picture quality but after 3 weeks the TV just kept turning off and on incessantly. Tried to trouble shoot but to no avail. It appears that after the TV got to a certain temperature (after so many hours of viewing) something would just start shorting out. Looked online to see if this problem was frequent but didn't find anything. I'm thinking something may have been damaged during shipping but who really knows. I'm just glad I was able to get a refund.

Paul S. Remington (Rochester, NY USA): We purchased the LG 32LN5300 32" television for our toddler's playroom, so we didn't want anything too big or too expensive. I looked at all our options and narrowed down my search to the LG 32LN5300 based on image quality, features, and price. My basic requirements were that it had to be 1080P and offer at least two HDMI inputs. There was one other television that was $50 less than the LG, but I opted for the LG because the image quality was noticeably better and off-axis viewing was far superior. The other television was an Insignia.

John Diche "JD" (USA): Amazon quality checked this television and resold it but this can't be possible. Once I plugged the set in I had problems within 1 minute. The television cuts on, cuts off, randomly. Goes for moments with the red light at bottom flashing then spontaneously cuts back on. Then will cut back off. On and off over and over again. This is the last used set I will buy. Funny thing is I thought I was buying a new set at the time I made the purchase. There are two sections one says "used", the other says "new". This television was in the new section. So apparently there are some bugs in the shopping interface.

libpekin (Newark, NJ USA): I purchased the 39 inch. First impressions. Picture is excellent without making any adjustments. I have it hooked up to Directv through the HDMI input. I watched a movie on a non HD channel and the picture looked almost as good as an HD channel. I think the TV has some kind of up converter built in.
Common with most flat screen TV's the speakers are under the front of the TV and sound is less than impressive. I compare the sound to listen to something through a tin can. Plan to get a sound bar in the next few weeks.

HDTV LG Electronics LN530B 32LN530B 32-Inch Deals & Reviews

E. Barber "moonlightbirch" (Denver, CO 80246): LG has come through again! I already have a 42" LCD HDTV and wanted a smaller one for my "man cave". Of course I ordered from Amazon and it arrived right on time, as always is the case with Amazon. This 32" model delivers a HD picture using the entire screen. LG's are the easiest on the market to set up every single adjustment you might want to make. This one is a little newer, and has even more adjustments. If you click 4 for channel 4, it offers 5 other options of the over the air numbers, 4.1, 4.2, etc! I love it and will buy any product available made by LG. This company has proven it over and over. You won't be sorry!

Paul S. Remington (Rochester, NY USA) : As a techie, buying a cheaper off-brand before and realizing you do need a warranty for this type of purchase. I have been pleasantly surprised with LG brands. I had a great cell phone from them and now after testing their product out, the clarity and sturdiness of the products is good branding. I wanted a good TV for my PS3 so I could play my Skyrim video game, I can actually read the signs on the game when my character is running down the roads on the game! Fantastic compared to the last 32" TV I bought last year that blew a fuse within the 90 days. I am watching this Netlix show and I am just amazed with the clarity. Great gaming, Netflix, Youtube viewing and...the sound is great for a small bedroom (I'm on a lower setting for the room 14 level and it's not even a quarter up the volume level).

D. Fokema (Wisconsin): The LG 32LN53OB is a 32" LED television designed for those who are satisfied with 720p video output without the 1080p price. It contains a nice selection of built-in features and picture modes and is Energy Star compliant. Its price point is a nice selling feature, but this doesn't detract from its video performance, which is respectable. With all this stated, the LG 32LN53OB is a lower scale television in terms of video specifications. If you're in the market for a 720p, lower priced television, the LG 32LN53OB is certainly worth looking at.

999 haunts (IL): Wanted a basic features 32 Inch Flat Panel TV for a home office (and wanted a LCD since they are lighter to mount to the wall). I have toyed around in the past by purchasing 3 cheap Flat panel TV's from best buy (two Insignia's (24 and 32 inch) and 1 Dynex (26 inch) thinking that all "cheap" TV's would be on par with each other. This LG costs about $50 more than a comparable 32 inch Insignia, however, I believe the cost difference is well worth the money.
The cheap Insignia's and the Dynex have issues with the HD tuner - they always have issues whenever I turn to a HD Channel - I normally need to go up or down one station, and manually turn back to the station that I want to get a signal lock, then, once s a signal lock is obtained, I will usually lose that station after about 30 minutes - these issues are NOT present on the LG.

HDTV Samsung UN32EH4003 32-inch Deals & Reviews

N "N" (Moon, Space): Nice and clear screen with good color reproduction. Intuitive, if cluttered, remote. All ports are at the back, and component and composite port are one and the same, befitting its budget ambitions. Only two HDMI ports, which may not matter much if just using as some ersatz computer monitor (hey, HTPC!) or a bedroom TV (...Roku?). Also missing due to budget constraints: smart TV functions--you ain't watching that Netflix of yours unless you get an HTPC or a settop box. You aren't probably going to miss the extra pixels, but you are going to miss the higher refresh rate--motion blur is rather pronounced on this TV. Movies, being shot at 30FPS, however, work better than, say, sports or games. LED cuts down on power cost, resulting in one of the most efficient TV of its size.

Charles D. Milde (Overland Park, Kansas United States): Here's the kicker, the one I ordered was the UN32EH4000 and the one on sale was the UN32EH4003. Looking through the specs, the only difference between the two is the base is larger on the 4000 (7.5" instead of 5"), which is a moot point, as she is having it wall-mounted.
The retail price is the same which leads me to the loophole I learned in the price-matching retail world: They create identical products with one subtle difference to warrant a different model number. This can allow retailers to offer the same price "on sale" all the time. Other times, it means they cannot price match because it is not the exact same model.

Midwest Mex "gadgeteer" (USA): First off, I upgraded from an Insignia 24" LED 1080p, this TV is trip to the moon difference better from the Insignia, Can't go wrong, I have it on the wall and the sound is great, I am not using it for my entertainment system, it's a dining room addition. Colors are vibrant, blacks are what they need to be, black. Timer to set up the auto power on and off is great. Eat my breakfast and go to work with no worries. Very light as well. Hope you enjoy.

Tam "artsy gal" (Colorado): I'm not going to argue whether I've rated this correctly or not. In my opinion the reviews are meant to be informative and when I took a quick look at this models average 4 star rating before purchasing, it was deceiving. Yes, the picture quality is excellent as one would expect from Samsung. But YOU CANNOT ADD EXTERNAL SPEAKERS TO IT!
I know its hard to believe.... even crazy to think that a tv would come without that option... but believe me, after hours of plugging every freaking type of stereo system I have into this tv, it will not work! I've researched the manual and spent 45 minutes online with an equally surprised tech when he read through it with me and confirmed it is not possible. period.

HDTV Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX750 46-Inch Deals & Reviews

SylverCloud (IL): Was going for a HX929 but the price increase pushed it out of budget and I settled for HX750.
This is a decent TV and I found cnet review mostly right. Colours are too good. Watching NGC and Discovery HD is really a treat. Blacks are really black like an other reviewer noted and its incredibly good. Downside is lost shadow detail. Shadow detail is not less, it simply is gone. Dark areas of picture appear totally black with nothing in detail or texture whatsoever. Motion judder is noticeable in standard and smooth modes (which are the ones recommended for regular use). I had compared this one side-by-side with HX 9 series and the latter humbled this at contrast and depth. HX 929 is still probably the best bet. But I felt the difference in picture doesn't justify the huge premium for 9 series.

R. Campbell (Grand Rapids, MI): I recently just got this and to be honest this is a downgrade since I have an XBR in the bedroom (small 32 inch) but just perfect for my living room.
This tv is exceptionally excellent with a sleek look that makes your living room so modern :D I am impressed on how the internet and widget tools are easily installed. Pretty easy and with Sony it already has Sony apps to rent/buy movies and it is also easy to setup for the ps3.
The picture quality is amazing. Obviously the XBR is much better but to be honest I can hardly tell that much difference.
The only drawback is the gloss and shadow if you have a bright room. Luckily my LR is pretty dark so its perfect with no flaw. If you like sports
this tv is insane.

BonJo (So. CA USA): We immediately contacted support via email after finding no "fixes" on the Sony website. We received a reply with instructions to try "resetting" the TV, which we did but it didn't work. We were then told that it would need repair and that we had to Call Sony Support on a NON-800# (on OUR dime) & ONLY between the hours of 9:00 - 5:00 pm (ET) M-F. We called on that Monday following (on Christmas Eve) at 7:30 am PT and got a person who would not believe that we had already gone through the reset steps with the other support person via email. We had to do it all over again with this person. He was difficult to understand and was a bit arrogant. So far this buying experience sucks. We're now concerned that the 55" is going to do the same...if it does, it better occur during the warranty period.

Rcommander "Rcom" (Internet): This TV has a lot to offer, like the LGs and Samsungs it also has the 2d to 3D button that will give some depth to 2D picture. The TV is light, and thin...plenty bright for a living room with lots of windows. Sound is awesome. It supports HDMI ARC which allows it to control certain home theater equipment automatically which is totally awesome. However you do need to buy a special HDMI 1.4b cable Mediabridge Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet 6 Feet Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D and Audio Return Channel <-- this one worked great for me, and it was cheap. Sound wise the TV is great but i still paired it up with a small system.
