HDTV Sharp LC-60LE650 Deals & Reviews
John Saylers (Cincinnati, OH): This is my only complaint. I was prepared for this after reading a lot of reviews - apparently the sound is bad on all of these new giant LED TVs. But it's really bad - sounds tinny, like it's coming out of laptop computer speakers. I just figured it couldn't be THAT bad, but the sound on my 37" Toshiba destroys it. I paired the TV with the Sony HTCT260 Sound Bar Home Theater System which I got on sale for $250, and it sounds phenomenal! True home theater setup - couldn't ask for anything more. I'm not taking off stars for the sound issue since I knew what I was getting into going into it and had planned on buying a sound bar system.
W. Hunt "SegWayne" (Huntsville, AL United States): I upgraded from a Samsung 50" Plasma which only lasted about 2 1/3 years (4 months out of extended BB warranty) that had suddenly developed the dreaded "vertical blue lines" down the center. Originally, I thought to just bite the bullet and buy the 60" Samsung LED that they now had on sale, but noticed that -- for $100 more than what I paid for my new Sharp -- it only had two (2!!!) HDMI inputs and no extended "SmartTV" functionality at all.
Moffet (MOffet): The only real issue I have with the TV is the remote, it works but its cheap. Its not back lit and isn't really a true multi-device remote. The TV relies too much on Aquos Link so if you don't have a Sharp soundbar forget about controlling volume on an external sound device with this remote. I have a Logitech Harmony remote but sometimes I just want to touch one button to do what I need to do. For those of you concerned with the sound of the TV, TVs with decent sound went away with tubes and rear projection which were basically gigantic heavy TVs with room for big speakers, get a sound bar or receiver with speakers. If you buy a big screen HDTV and don't have some kind of real surround sound you are missing out.
Chris(USA): I did a lot of research on this TV and it lived up to the hype. The Cnet review is pretty dead on with this TV. It has great picture big and bright. Some of the downsides with the TV is it doesn't handle blacks very well and movies aren't the best. I didn't have to calibrate my TV I just turned it to Dynamic. This TV has many different modes you can set it too. This TV works great in my bright living room. That was my main problem with my plasma TV is it had a horrible glare! You can buy other 60 inch TVs that have better picture than this Sharp. For the money this is the best 60in available and highly recommend it.

HDTV VIZIO M401i-A3 40-Inch Deals & Reviews
Go Huskers "Husker Power" (Montana): Went to Best Buy the other day to check out this new Vizio tv on display. The salesmen wouldn't stop talking about how amazing the picture was on the new Sony 4K tv they had on display. The guy then proceeded to show me the images on the Sony provided USB drive and how much better this Sony could show the images than the Samsung across from it which he said was in his opinion one of the next best tv's out there. The images showed the tv's ability to display different colors as well as the ability to distinguish between different grays ranging from white to black. Also it's ability to display different Reds on an image similar to a vision test for color blindness.
J. Haindel "Jay" (Louisiana): The picture quality is unbelievable. The blacks are really BLACK with even more than enough brightness, contrast and color saturation than necessary. Someone said, it was like the characters on the program were in the room. In 3D, I have to agree.
The screen is very glossy though. Many people complained about this on last year's model, but I love it. There is a discernible picture quality increase with a glossy screen, in my opinion. I even chose this kind of screen for my computer monitor and have never regretted it, but if you watch TV during the day and have light coming from in back of you, there will definitely be reflections. I think the discernible increase in picture quality outweighs the reflection problem.
Randy M "rdm" (Des Moines, IA United States): Could not be happier with this set. I realized something I had thought was only applicable to the 240hz LG brand tv's, had thought that LG gave a more realistic sharp crisp picture than other brand Tv's. WRONG! The thing is, vizio as well as my other 55" LG both have 240hz and both share the same crystal clear picture. It's like you are there while they were filming. Hard to explain. You have to experience it. But the fact the tv is 240hz as opposed to 120hz makes a huge difference. Produces a life-like picture. As if you are there with your own camcorder doing the filming. In a way it takes away the mystery of film and acting. Kind of like making a home movie. It's the 240hz effect, I guess, since both my 240hz tv's share this video clarity. Cool in a way, but very obvious difference compared to 120hz tv's.

Amazon said 3-5 weeks on ship time and I would have had to take time off work to be home when it arrived. I did have to pay the sales tax though, but it worked out just fine for my situation. First, it fit in the exact same space as my 50" Plasma because of the razor edge design, so that was a nice bonus. Second, it really is easy on the eyes and very, very thin. I'm not the biggest fan of the silver, as all my devices are all black, but a week later and I don't even notice it and its black around the front edge, so it really isn't a big deal. The screen gloss is not as bad as my plasma, but perhaps more than what most LCD TV viewers are used to seeing. I guess the reason for this type of screen has to do with the Passive 3D, but I don't find it problematic.

HDTV VIZIO E500i-A1 50-inch Deals & Reviews
Trevor Trumbo (San Clemente, CA USA): Set up was very easy. The TV found our secure wireless SSID and it took maybe 15 seconds to have it connected to our home network. I wish the TV connected over the 5G band instead of the 2G but we haven't experienced any lag with Amazon Prime or Netflix.
Connecting the TV to our home entertainment center was easy with the HDMI cable (not included). Our Harmony remote took about 2 minutes to update and was controlling the television soon after.
Anthony V. Mumolo (U.S.A): Just got the TV yesterday and hooked it up this morning for the Macy's parade! Amazing is all I have to say. Install is easy - just attach the base if you are not wall mounting. Took about 10 minutes from box to watching TV. The apps are what make this entire thing so worth while. Before we were streaming video through demand with our blueray player - now you can stream right from the TV, which makes it seamless. You can also watch TV on the side while browsing for a movie to stream. I love the technology.

Luzzi "Music Mavin" (Chicago IL): First off, after reading so many reviews for the Sharp 70" which I was so close to buying, I decided to go $1-200 cheaper than the cheapest Sharp model in the 70" lineup and buy the Vizio. I've always wanted to try Vizio because I've heard a lot of good things about them so I did after finding that this was only about 1 of 3 or 4 of the total 70" LCDs on the market from which to choose. My choices were very limited. I read much good and much bad about the Sharp image. So, after reading about the Vizio and finding less negatives for their model than for the Sharp, I went with Vizio.
GoBeavs (USA): Why I am reviewing: Lack of reviews on this set currently with several of them giving a poor rating. Some of the issues other reviewers were having sounded like they might be user error. Either way, I feel this is a trusted brand at the right price so and the size that I needed so I went ahead and bought it regardless of the reviews.

HDTV VIZIO E221-A1 22-Inch Deals & Reviews
KDM (Iowa): The picture on this TV is noticely nicer than the picture on the Samsung. Within a minute of hooking it up my wife instantly said this picture was noticeably better than the Samsung, which is strange because when I mentioned that I didn't like the Samsung picture she said it looked fine to her! Women, go figure! Just kidding. Both are 720p resolution but the Vizio is a much nicer picture. When you are close to the TV (within 3-5 feet or so you can start to notice a lower resolution but from a greater distance, 720p is more than adequate. I would suggest getting 1080p for anything larger.
Katawampas (USA): I bought this on sale at another store. This model is not a "Smart" TV; the "Smart" model is the Vizio E320i-A0. I use a Roku so don't need "Smart". Overall, I'm happy with the TV. Has a good picture, OK sound & the connections I need. I use this as a bedroom TV & it works great for that. I do not have cable or satellite so I use antenna; I can see the city tower from my house so I have wonderful reception.
I own 3 additional Vizio TVs & they have been very good/dependable.
Kpc001 (Michigan): Now, as to the picture. This is the heart of the matter. I'm used to LCD screens, which seem brighter out of the box than LED. This TV's picture was very dark and washed out when I set it up. Partly is was my familiarity with LCD screens that made the screen look so dark by comparison. The Vizio pre-set picture modes all seemed dark. The Vivid mode was the brightest, and is the mode I use for all inputs with some adjustments. I have either turned off or lowered the Vizio automatic ambient light adjustment that comes automatically set on the TV. I found that it kept the screen too dark. By turning it off, the picture has brightened considerably.
Andy Rosenblum "Andy Rosenblum" (Saratoga Springs, New York): This was a Christmas gift for my wife for our bedroom. I treat her too well, I know. We have a big screen Vizio
that we like, so I trust the brand. The picture is quite good, and you can tell that you have 1080p. She watches
this TV while reading in bed, putting on makeup, etc. The only drawback is the sound; it is tinny and small.
I offered to hook up auxiliary speakers, but my wife refused. She is the only person I know who does not like
surround sound. She thinks the sound is fine. Hey, if she's happy, I'm happy. I detract one star for the sound--
otherwise, excellent TV.

HDTV VIZIO E-Series E241i-A1 24-Inch Deals & Reviews
Douglas G. Lally "DougNC" (Raleigh, NC): I purchased this HDTV for the bedroom and am more than satisfied with it. I mounted it on the wall using a small $25 TV mount. It requires only two screws to hang it so you only have to find one stud in the wall. The built in WiFi and on demand Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc is a game changer. The remote (batteries are included) has one touch features for each of the most popular web channels. I ditched my cable about a year ago and do not miss it.
Donald Sensing (Fairview, Tenn.): I opted for the internet-connected Vizio only because it was only $20 more than the non-internet model. Obviously, I thought, I can get all the Vizio apps and Netflix, etc, on the tablet, so would not really need the TV's connectivity. While this is true, I still use the Vizio's connection and apps for non-TV viewing. There are also some useful other apps such as the Wall Street Journals's financial app and other news feeds.
J. Swartz (Bay Area, California): Built in wireless access to your router? Kindof has a built in "roku" media box inside of it that handles all the stuff roku does. Picture quality is very good, the remote buttons are small. My only beef is this tv comes with no STAND that holds it up. Its designed with this little plastic piece in the back that keeps it from falling over but because of this the tv is angled slightly up which prevents you from watching it head on. If it had a proper stand like most leds I' give it a 5 star.
Real Dreams (USA): Shipped quicker than stated and arrived in good shape. Was easy to attach stand (I needed it to stand on a shelf instead of a wall mount) TV was easy to setup and I had it hooked to U-Verse via HDMI cable so it could be used within minutes. The TV was easy to get on my home WIFI so the internet features would work. It seems to be as sensitive in receiving WIFI as my I-Phone. The sound is not as good as a large TV but is better than an older VIZIO model M221NV that I have on a kitchen wall.
I have not tried the digital receiver as I did not have an antenna handy in the basement location I placed the TV.

HDTV VIZIO E241-A1 24-inch Deals & Reviews
KDM (Iowa): I started looking for other 26 or 28 inch TVs when I saw this 29 inch Vizio. I looked at the product dimensions hoping it would fit and to my surpise it was an exact match! And it was 3 inches larger than the Samsung to boot! At the time there were no reviews available so I really didn't have anything to go by except for prior experience with a 22" Vizio LED (still working, just wanted something larger). I decided to buy it knowing that Amazon has a great returns policy. I figured I would compare it to the Samsung and return which ever one I did not like.
MinneMan "CJ" (Minnesota): Turning it on, I wasn't impressed by the picture at all. It was dim and had too much contrast and not enough gradation of tones. None of the presets were useable so I had tailor a custom setup. It took some messing around with the settings over a couple of days to get a picture I could be satisfied with. The automatic backlighting feature, which adjusts the brightness to the room's ambient lighting, was getting in the way so I had to disable it.
Thomas (Sherri's husband) (Magalia, California): I've had the unit setup for an afternoon and have put in about four hours of viewing; "Cowboys and Aliens" was the main movie watched and several newscasts. I have not watched any sporting events such as tennis or hockey so I can't say how well the television handles fast moving, small objects like a hockey puck or a tennis ball. If I come across any niggles that a consumer should know about, I'll comeback and post follow-ups and if no follow-ups, then everything is performing as one would expect.

I had purchased one, and the audio continued to shut off, and as others have said, the only way to restore volume was to turn tv off and then back on, a process which takes 30-45 sec. This happened 6x so far today, random and irregular. Went to customer service at Vizio, they said I could send it in for repair, 3 week turnaround. Not going to happen. Returned to BJ's, got a replacement, and it is doing the same thing. I see others share this problem, and it is clearly a Vizio issue.

HDTV JVC JLE47BC3500 47-Inch Deals & Reviews
D. Rice "Woodworker" (Indiana): I first seen this TV last year around thanksgiving on a "shopping channel" for 699.95 with six "easy payments". I debated back and forth about making the purchase and waited too long as the shopping channel took away one of the easy payments and raised the price, and was charging almost 30 dollars extra to ship. So I decided to dig my heels in and wait for them to put it on sale again around Christmas, well it never happened, New Years, price never moved. Then last week I am cruising Amazon.com and I find the EXACT TV on sale for 529.00 and free shipping (Super Bowl sale).
E. L. Velazquez "Tiger Fan" (South Carolina): I am very happy with my JVC 47" television! I've had it just under a month and it is working wonderfully and met all of my expectations! I too saw this tv on another website (Q..) and after doing some extensive research, I found it here on Amazon for much less and free shipping. The reviews here on Amazon were also very helpful in making the decision to purchase the JVC. It would be awesome if Amazon had a monthly billing program for larger purchases, but the price was so afordable and an absolute deal that I could not refuse. Price is higher now, so if you are on the edge, you better get it before the great ratings make the price go even higher. Great size for my master bedroom and there was a screw driver in the box! I am super thrilled (can't you tell). Thanks Amazon!

For the price, though, I took that chance. I will say that I can see patches of "light leakage" sometimes on black screens under certain lighting conditions - I read that this is normal with most LEDs though, and it doesn't interrupt the viewing of most shows and movies. I can't really judge the TV watching experience accurately, as I live in a fairly rural area and only get 4 HD channels - 3 1080i, and 1 720i that can sometimes be choppy due to signal strength (I don't have cable, so I use an antenna).

It blows the JVC away. Different leagues, truly. (And the Toshiba had previously been hooked up in the same room to the same cable box as I later hooked up this new JVC to.)
